View: Court affidavit with case background. Federal prosecutors on Thursday announced the indictment of eight people in connection with a sex trafficking ring in which underage girls from San Bernardino and Riverside counties were groomed for prostitution and brutalized by their pimps.
Six of the defendants, including the suspected ringleader and three of his top prostitutes, were arrested Thursday and arraigned in U. District Court in Riverside on sex trafficking and other charges.
The defendants face anywhere from 10 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.

According to the indictment, Albertie was the lead prostitute for Samuel Rogers and attended a high school in which underage girls from both San Bernardino and Riverside counties attended. She enticed the girls with the idea of prostituting themselves, telling them they could have money to get their hair and nails done or get a house, authorities said. Once Alberti secured the cooperation of the young girls, Samuel Rogers would drive to the Inland Empire, pick the girls up and take them to Compton, where they were taught how to prostitute, how much to charge, and the rules they had to follow, prosecutors allege.
Bell would often keep the girls locked in an upstairs apartment at his Lynwood residence and threatened them with violence, authorities allege. He and the Rogers brothers also housed the girls at motels in Compton and directed them to prostitute themselves on Long Beach Boulevard, according to the indictment.
