Unless you stay out until the very small hours, I think you should be perfectly safe. Use your common sense and do not get too drunk yourself. I am surprised that a resident of Liverpool, the crack capital of UK, would find find Oslo a big problem in this respect. It is unfortunate that most EU cities have a problem with begging in the streets and the richer cities are particularly exposed - a consequence of huge differences in wealth across the EU. Begging is legal in Norway , but not aggressive begging and I haven't experienced any cups rattled under my nose or being hounded.
