My hubby and I will be in Samana starting Wednesday for 12 days. We are dying to get away and enjoy ourselves. In order to totally relieve myself of all of this work stress, I would LOVE to get a massage and have someone work out some of the knots in my neck and shoulders. I have tried searching the forums, but most of the postings seem to be about spas in the resorts. Is there anything around the town of Samana?
We have rented a house on the beach just outside of town. Check if they have it in the hair salon "Purita" that's next to the Catholic Church. There is a little "massage" sign on the left of the road heading towards the local market from GBCC, but I have no idea how sketchy it is!
Now that we have been here for a week I realize how silly that question was! Samana is nothing at all like I had pictured it - but in many ways it is a thousand times better than I had imagined! We did a have very typical tourist day yesterday and went to Cayo Levatado and got massages on the beach - today we are back to spending time alone with locals and not hundreds of other tourists we much prefer exploring the area on our own rather then solely going on excursions and staying in groups.
