Aishwarya Subramanian posted a photo of a tuk tuk driver who told her the dress she was wearing was 'inappropriate', and explained that a group of men including the security guard at her apartment building had joined in criticising her.
But the journalist who lives in Bangalore, India turned the tables with her Facebook post which has been shared almost times. Scroll down for video. She explained that the incident occurred when she got out of the tuk tuk driven by a man called Srikanth. And then I tell him clearly that as long as I am paying he has no right to tell me what I can or cannot wear. I am wearing a white summer dress that reaches my knee. While the conversation is going on, a few men gathered to voice their opinions. Apparently a girl who lives in a society like mine should be dressed more modestly and like a woman,' she said.
This is the first time I have been so publicly slut shamed. I walk away feeling shell shocked and ashamed. Aishwarya said the incident highlighted how women can't win no matter what they wear.
