Plums, alu bukhara or alucha in Hindi and many other Indian languages, belongs to the family of Prune family and are believed to have originated in Central Asia. The juicy and succulent fruit combines sweet and sour taste with an almost irresistible eye appeal.
It is considered a rich source of vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. The dark, rich color of plums makes them an ideal ingredient for jams, jellies and chutneys.
