Description

Apricots, it is believed, came to India from Central India via the historic Silk Route and lost no time in endearing themselves to the people here. It’s called khubani in Hindi and many other Indian languages and is relished from trans-Himalayan Ladakh to Hyderabad in the Deccan where khubani ka meetha is a signature dessert. The fruit belonging to the Prune family is a rich source of vitamins and minerals as well as dietary fibre.

Chutney is literally translated as a substance that can be licked. A wide variety of chutneys are prepared in India using fruits and vegetables as base adding myriad seasonings and spices. These are believed to have therapeutic properties.

The British succumbed to the charms of chutney and it was during the period of colonial rule that chutney evolved further. Use of vinegar enhanced the shelf life of fruity chutneys and use of exotic condiments enriched the taste.

Our Apricot chutney is made of the choicest fruit pulp and local masalas are used to prepare it. The quality of the ingredients and the freshness of the fruit make the chutney unique.
