I know the adult side does not have a beach bar or beach snack bar, does the Deluxe side? I thought I read that you can't on that beach since it is a top rated beach. Also how many pools does the Deluxe side have? Are there any snack huts anywhere on the resort? Thanks so much for your help! As of our last trip there, the Barcelo Bavaro Palace did not really have an adult only side. The adult only property was the Barcelo Bavaro Beach, which is located just to the north, or to the right side of the Palace if you face the resort with the ocean to your back.
The properties are continuous, but Palace guests can not use all of the amenities of the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. That being said, the Barcelo Bavaro Palace did have and adult area toward the southern most section of the resort to the left if facing the resort with the ocean to your back.
There you will find the adult only pool and poolside bar. Every other area at the Palace was not adult only. In general, the rooms designated as "family" were located out back by the golf course, while the suites and junior suites were located along the ocean.
I was never sure what deluxe really meant at this resort. This seems to be a Barcelo trend, as we found that there were no bars or snack bars on the beach in these two areas, nor were there any at the Barcelo Punta Cana, nor the Barcelo Maya Palace. However, there are many bars just off of the beach and are a very short walk. Bringing insulted mugs Big Bubba type is very helpful at these all inclusives. They discourage don't allow food on the beach to keep critters from invading the beach area their opinion, we like critters.
There is also a 24 hour snack bar, Strikers, not to far from the beach also. I recall there being five pools at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. Starting at the north end right with ocean at your back there was a lap pool that was connected to the first main pool with the swim up bar. To the south a bit more there was the walkway down from the lobby and restaurants that separated the second large pool near the buffets from the first pool with the swim up bar. Then there was the kiddie pool, and another section of pavement where the tram goes,and finally the adult pool.
